Theo (they/them) has a diverse background centred on understanding the body-mind-sense complex and honouring the Being that dwells within. They are a non-binary student and teacher of yoga, a life-long linguist and poet, a movement and massage practitioner, and a former healthcare worker. Blending their interest in language, inclusivity-based community and Vedānta, with their lived experience as a non-binary being, Theo believes in the compassionate and clarifying expansion of vocabulary. Words are important symbols for the deliverance of meaning. The more precise our communication, the greater the intricacy, accuracy, depth and breadth of the unfolding. We will explore both ancient and modern examples of gender-diversity, traversing the gross, subtle and essential components to move beyond the man-woman-binary of the physical body. Gender-diverse identities and terminology will then be introduced, followed by opportunities to play with fearlessly using pronouns, discussing classically gendered experiences or body parts, or inclusively introducing the archetypal Masculine and Feminine principles.

How can we live with each other and make each other stronger? This session introduces thoughts on what happens when we view our relationships with intimate partners through the lens of understanding our true selves as always full and complete. If I am not my mind, and you are not your mind, how can we live compassionately with each other's mind patterns?

The session will conclude with a meditation to strengthen our ability to empathize with our own minds and emotions, as well as those of others.

I will also discuss Robert Kegan's research, the perspectives of Dan Siegel, the Gottman Institute's findings on relationships, the concept of forming a couple bubble, and the importance of empathy.

The Laksmī Devī Sādhana / Day 6

On this sixth day, we will invoke once more the blessings of Goddess Laksmi, who is infinite abundance  and explore another universal values that can serve as a guiding thread in your life, helping you reclaim your inner power.

We will offer our sixth Vedic Puja ritual together. You can either join me in spirit as I perform the Puja, or have your own altar prepared with offerings from the Navaratri Guide to actively participate in the ritual.

Either way, the most important thing is to come as you are. Participating in the Puja is optional—simply being present with an open heart during these midday sessions will offer you profound benefits.

The key to developing an open mind and a thoughtful openness toward life is to keep one’s curiosity and focus alive. Through yoga, we cultivate finer levels of awareness, eventually discovering that we hold the key to joy in our very hands as we learn to distinguish between conditioned behavior and true freedom. Ultimately, we shift our perception of reality, opening a path to liberation.
